Tadeus Kantor (Polish, 1915-1990) Untitled [Vertical] Signed "Kantor" l. r., also signed, inscribed, and dated "T. KANTOR/ CRACOVIE/ 1963" on the reverse. Oil on canvas, 39 1/4 x 31 3/4 in. (99.7 x 80.6 cm), framed. Condition: Craquelure, surface grime, minor losses. Provenance: A private New England collection. Minor tissue paper adhered to the reverse. Minor losses to the u.l. and u.r. quadrants, each less than 1/2 x 1/4 in. Craquelure to areas of heaviest impasto throughout.
