Northeast Carved Steatite Pipebowl, c. early 19th century, a tulip-shaped keeled form, perforated for suspensions, hide thong, tag included reads: "Penobscot pipe, soapstone, belonged to Shaman from 1850s, lived at Lincoln, named Neptune, 1846 met Thoreau, living in Wigwam," ht. 2 1/4 in.
