Five Assorted Tortoiseshell and Mother-of-pearl Cases, England, 19th century, including four tortoiseshell, a rectangular box, the cover inlaid with gold and silver scrollwork surrounding a central bar, lg. 4 1/4; an oval eye glass case with silver-inlaid studs and bar, lg. 5 1/4; a card case with inlaid silver bar engraved C. Briggs , lg. 4 1/8; and a rectangular case with gold- and silver-inlaid landscape with bird and butterfly, lg. 5 1/4; together with a mother-of-pearl card case with allover diamond design inscribed with flowers, inlaid silver bar engraved J. Gatchell , lg. 4 1/8 in. Each in very good condition except: Eye glass case with shallow 1/2" chip along an edge. Case w/ landscape and bird: Slight silver lifting, gold bird needs reattaching. MOP case: Slight repair at area of hinge.
