French Hand-painted and Ormolu-mounted Marble-top Commode, the serpentine top over bombe case decorated with pastoral scenes of a shepherdess and shepherd, and landscapes, with two hinged doors enclosing shelved interior, on sabre legs, ht. 35 1/2, wd. 40, dp. 18 in. Ormolu mount to front right foot off but present. Marble top with two repaired breaks running front to back. Shrinkage cracks to painted scenes. Scene with shepherd indistinctly signed.
