Two Needlework Samplers, reportedly Rhode Island, late 18th century, both worked in silk threads on a linen ground, the first stitched "Elizabeth Collins Was born May The 7 1772," with a geometric floral border above rows of alphabets, (toning), 8 1/2 x 8, the second stitched "Fanny B-ider Her sampler made in the eleventh Year of Her Age 1796," with rows of alphabets, floral and geometric borders, (toning and fading), 13 1/2 x 8 1/4 in. , both in later frames.
