Two Continental Filigree Metal Besamim Box Spice Containers, 19th century, comprising one stylized apple-form, with two-part round body topped by a large pennant, on tripod wirework base, ht. 6, the other tower form, with cylindrical body topped by pennant, on clustered wire legs and round filigree base, ht. 6 5/8 in. apple-form: lid does not sit firmly onto base (possibly married). top edge of base with spot of loss to filigree, and evidence of solder. footrim warped, corroded, and with a hole around one of the legs. tower: top of body with messy solder filling in some of the filigree. bodt with small scattered losses to filigree. visible solder at join of legs to footrim, but likely from manufacture. neither hallmarked.
