Signed and dated "E.N.Vanderpoel/1923" l.l., titled, inscribed, and with a label from A B Crowell, New Bedford, Massachusetts, on the frame backing paper. Watercolor on paper, sight size 14 1/2 x 21 3/4 in., framed. Condition: Acid burn, mild toning and foxing, not examined out of frame. N.B. The work is titled and inscribed on the backing paper "...L...ed by Mrs. V. Downs/Dartmouth, Mass./September 1938," the month and year of the devastating hurricane which would surely have impacted this tranquil view.
