Neoclassical Mahogany and Wavy Birch Veneer Mixing Table with Marble Top, likely Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1800, the inset Italian marble top framed by molding and flanked by pull-out candle slides, on the cockbeaded string-inlaid base with drawer bordered with checkered stringing centering an ivory inlaid urn escutcheon, joining four double-tapering string-inlaid legs ending in cuffs, ht. 29 1/4, wd. 31 3/4, dp. 21 1/2 in. Refinished. Marble likely replaced. Repaired break to one front left leg. Pulls replaced. Small chips to edge of marble. Small repair to case behind right candle slide. Age typical small scattered shrinkage cracks, nicks, and scuffs.
