Creamware Mug with Hand-painted Decoration "Succefs to ye City of Boston.. ," England, late 18th century, the mug with hand-painted polychrome enamel decoration depicting a village scene over the inscription "Succefs to ye City of Boston/Liberty For Ever," with molded floral and foliate handle terminals, (lacking handle, staining), ht. 6 3/8 in. Old loss to handle, 1 3/4 in rim line, hairline to base, three old abrasion to sides, 1/4 -3/4 in lg., brownish staining on top 2/3 of mug, spots of glaze losses to interior and exterior bottom.
