Malcolm (M. C.) Waite (American, 20th Century) Crashing Waves Signed "M. WAITE" l.l., inscribed "With Bill E...M. Waite Original-1954...MCW" on the reverse and tacking edge. Oil on canvas, 24 x 30 in. (61.0 x 76.2 cm), in an Arts & Crafts frame. Condition: Surface grime, subtle rippling. Very small paint loss (1/16 in) l.c. Canvas surface is speckled with scattered tiny splatters of pigment, more pronounced in the u.r. quadrant. There are some very minor areas of retouch, two on the left side, the larger a line of 3/4 inch and the smaller a 1/4 in. dot. Other minor retouch along upper edge.
