Heinrich Karl Brückner (German, 1805-1892) Fishing in the Northern Alps Monogram signature "HBrückner, sen. " l.l., inscribed "...Heinrich Bruckner" on the reverse. Oil on canvas, 12 3/4 x 16 1/2 in. (32.4 x 41.9 cm), framed. Condition: Retouch, craquelure, surface grime. Clustered dots to retouch to sky over the hut and river, extending over to the the edge of the pine trees. Another cluster of dots in the sky to the right of the pine trees. One small spot in center of sky. Many pinpoint sized paint losses, most evident in the sky and in the frothy water. Fine craquelure throughout, more prominent in sky just above the hut and in the heavier impasto on the mountain peak.
