Huc-Mazelet Luquiens (American, 1881-1961) Two Views of Hawaii: Sunset, Kualoa Point, 1923; and Lauhala , 1932. Both signed "H.M.Luquiens" in pencil l.r., both monogrammed or signed and dated within the plate, the latter titled in pencil l.r. Etchings (the former with aquatint) on paper, plate sizes to 8 3/4 x 12 7/8 in. (22.2 x 32.5 cm), framed. Condition: Toning (primarily to former), not examined out of frames. N.B. Although Luquiens was born in Massachusetts, he traveled to Hawaii for the first time in 1917. Transfixed by the landscape, he spent much of the rest of his career there.
