Smorthwaite Pine Longcase Clock, Colchester, England, c. 1710, brass composite 11-in. dial with Roman numeral chapter ring engraved Smorthwaite in Colchester , quarter hour and half hour fleur-de-lis markings, cast brass spandrels and single hand, flat cornice top, blind fretwork, rectangular waist door with glass lentical, flat molded base, thirty-hour posted frame movement with recoil escapement, countwheel strike and Huygen's endless rope, pendulum and single weight, ht. 80 in. case lacking original surface treatment, pendulum an old replacement, hour hand broken, replacement seating board.
