Continental School, 19th Century A Festive Promenade Unsigned. Gouache on tan paper, 14 1/2 x 20 in. (36.8 x 50.8 cm.), framed. Condition: Small tear within the composition in c.r. mended with tape on the reverse, repair to u.r. corner, small tears to edges, minor losses to lower corners, toning. Small pencil study of a woman in an interior on the reverse. Sheet hinged to backing mat in two places along top edge. Mended irregular tear to center, located just to the right of the neck of the primary female figure in the blue skirt, measuring about 3/4 inch overall. L- shaped tear to upper edge, just left of center, measuring about 3/4 in. U.r. corner with a paper loss re-attached measuring about 1-3/4 inches overall. Small tear to l.l. edge, measuring 3/4 inch.
