Black-painted Cherry Candlestand, New England, late 18th century, the square top with a candle drawer mounted underneath, on a boldly vase- and ring-turned post, on tripod base cabriole leg base with arris knees continuing to pad feet on platforms, original surface, (minor imperfections), ht. 26 1/2, wd. 16 1/2, dp. 17 in. Provenance: Purchased from Walters-Benisek Art & Antiques, Northampton, Massachusetts. some wear to corners of top, the knees, and the feet.
