Aesop, ed. Charles Hoole (1610-1667) Aesopi Fabluae Anglo-Latinae . London: Stationer's Company, 1700. Octavo, very rare English-Latin Aesop in all editions, this edition with no U.S. locations in ESTC, originally issued with two title pages: Latin and English, this copy lacks the English title and the final blank, contemporary speckled calf, binding becoming detached at spine, boards buckling, corners of leaves folded, with ink inscriptions in the text, 3 1/2 x 5 3/4 in. The condition of this particular copy explains the rarity of its editions. The English-Latin Aesop was likely produced in quantity, and saw great use as a school text.
