Scrap and Receipt Books, Four Volumes: Two manuscript recipe books in limp marbled paper wraps on lined paper, c. 1889; later edition of the works of Elizabeth Barrett Browning in an Asian design silk book cover; two separate black lacquer scrapbook boards, the front with inlaid abalone roses and a pocket for holding loose papers, with approximately forty-five 19th century engravings and mezzotints, mostly of romantic and domestic subjects and landscapes, including Lake Winnipesaukee, Mount Holyoke, the Catskills, and others, a few colored by an amateur hand; and The Universal Card and Scrap Album , in gold embossed covers, containing approximately thirty pages mounted with 19th century greeting cards, printed in vibrant colors, many with silk fringe, bows, and some printed on silk, the album pages chipped and detached, the cards themselves generally good.
