After Cesare Maccari (Italian, 1840-1919) The Fortune Teller , a copy by Miss S. W. Kelly Inscribed "Copy/by/S.W. Kelly/Washington, D.C." on the reverse, identified on a presentation plaque. Oil on canvas, 12 x 16 in. (30.0 x 40.5 cm), framed. Condition: Craquelure, stretcher marks, mild surface grime. N.B. The copyist is presumed to be Susan W. Kelly (American, b. 1855), who was born in Ireland and active in Washington, D.C., from 1881 to 1924.
