After Johannes Gotz (German, 1865-1934) Achilles in Hoplite Uniform, with medium brown patina, base incised "Gotz" and "Aktien-Gesellschaft. Gladenbeck. Berlin.," on a black marble base, bronze ht. 20 3/4 in. N.B. Kaiser Wilhelm II commissioned the original statue in 1912 for the Achilleion Gardens, on the Greek island of Corfu.
