Arliss Watford (African American, 1924-1998) Pair of Folk Art Carved Standing Nudes: Man and Woman . Inscribed, signed, and dated "Hand carved by/Arliss A.Watford 1989" on the back of the bases, with Woman including an address "Route 3 Box 126 Ahoskie, N.C." at the end of the inscription. Hand-carved wood, heights approximately 11 in. Condition: Pupils and brows defined with black pigment, Woman with small fissure in block forming the base. N.B.
