Federal Mahogany Tall Case Clock, Aaron Willard, Roxbury, Massachusetts, c. 1785, the tombstone polychrome and gilt dial showing a rocking ship in the arch, with floral painted spandrels, seconds hand, and calendar aperture, lettered "Aaron Willard," interior of door bears the label of Aaron Willard, Roxbury, refinished, (restoration), ht. 92 1/2 in. Provenance: Gift from J. Cheney Wells to Wells Historical Museum, 1937.
