English Pictorial Adam & Eve Needlework Sampler, "Anne Elizabeth Franklin/She Was Born October The 19 1849/Age 13 y's," England, 1862, stitched with silk threads on a linen ground, some letters accented with gold-colored glass beads, depicting a variety of motifs including birds, flowers, animals, trees, and crowns over pious verses and a register depicting a tree with encircling snake flanked by figures of Adam and Eve, and potted plants, with geometric border, (minor fading and toning), 11 x 16 in. , in a later cherry wood frame.
