Sold for:
$1,140

Chippendale-style Carved Tiger Maple Spice Chest, Donald Dunlap, Marlow, New Hampshire, 2011, the dentil-molded cornice above a fan-carved door opening to an interior of eleven drawers, on bracket base, ht. 17 1/4, wd. 14, dp. 9 in. Note: Though this spice chest is made with elements used by the Dunlap cabinetmakers of late 18th and early 19th century New Hampshire, the Dunlaps were not known to make this form, and the cabinetmaker here has simply made a Pennsylvania-type spice box in the Dunlap style.
