Miniature Needlework Adam and Eve Sampler, "Dinah Johnston 1792," finely stitched silk threads on a linen gauze ground, depicting a pious verse over central Adam and Eve figures beside a tree with birds perched on the branches, surrounded by an assortment of motifs including cherubs with goblets, two hearts, baskets of fruit, potted plants, stags, dogs, and birds, enclosed in a zigzag vine border, (minor toning, a few minute losses on edges), 6 1/4 x 4 1/4 in. , unframed.
