(35.6 x 45.7 cm), in a period gilt oak frame (under glass). Condition: Minor pigment displacement. Provenance: Frederic Amory (1844-1928) [maternal great-grandson of John Singleton Copley], then by family descent. N.B. The present work is one of several through Frederic Amory's collection, which included Claude Monet's, Matin sur la Seine, temps net , 1897, John Singleton Copley's A Boy with a Flying Squirrel , 1765, and Childe Hassam's Charles River and Beacon Hill , c. 1892, two of which are in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston permanent collection.
