André Beaurepaire (French, b. 1924) Set Design for Ciné-Bijou , c. 1953 Signed "Beaurepaire" l.l. Pastel on black paper, sight size 12 1/4 x 16 3/4 in. (31.1 x 42.6 cm), in a Newcomb-Macklin Co., Chicago, frame. Condition: Not examined out of frame. N.B. Choreographer Roland Petit founded Les Ballets de Paris dance company in 1948, after departing Les Ballets des Champs-Elysées. Petit created Ciné-Bijou , a jazz-inspired ballet with original music composed by Pierre Petit, for the 1953 Paris season.
