Christian Bérard, called Bébé (French, 1902-1949) La Belle Endormie / Set Design for Les Forains , 1945 Signed "Bérard" l. r., identified on a label from Galerie Lucie Weill, Paris, and with a label from Newcomb-Macklin Co., Chicago, affixed to the backing. Gouache on paper, sight size 15 x 18 1/2 in. (38.1 x 47.0 cm), framed. Condition: Not examined out of frame. N.B. French "étoile" ballerina Nina Vyroubova danced with Roland Petit's Les Ballets des Champs-Elysées, and later with the Paris Opera Ballet. Petit created the role of La Belle Endormie for her in Les Forains .
