Manchu Woman's Formal Court Robe, China, Qing Dynasty, a blue silk dragon robe woven with dragons clutching pearls amidst clouds above a lishui border, a large central dragon at the chest, with layered horseshoe sleeves and a "G. T. Marsh & Co. 214 Post St. San Francisco" tag affixed to the interior of the collar, lg. 54 in. Note: G.T. Marsh and Company: Japanese Art Repository opened in San Francisco and was one of the first Asian art galleries in the United States.
