ARMS CO./CHICOPEE FALLS. , side of loading lever marked KERR'S PATENT/APRIL 14, 1857 with a very lightly stamped T nearby, checkered walnut grips with a cartouche on each side, barrel lg. 6, overall lg. 12 5/8 in. Provenance: Through family descent to the consignor, owned by 1st Lieutenant Melvin S. Smith, Company E, 13th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment.
