Jan Frederik Pieter Portielje (Dutch, 1829-1895) Portrait of a Woman, Possibly Mrs. Rode Monogram signature "JPortielje." l.l., identified on a presentation plaque, inscribed and signed "This picture has been/ painted by myself to the/ order of Mr. Ch...Rode/ of New York/J. Portielje Antwerp" on the reverse with a label from Doll & Richards, Inc., Boston, affixed to the frame. Oil on canvas, 32 1/4 x 24 1/2 in. (81.9 x 62.2 cm), framed. Condition: Craquelure, surface grime, subtle varnish inconsistencies.
