Attributed to Leopold Gould Seyffert (American, 1887-1956) Portrait of John Worthington. Signed and dated "Seyffert/1905" l.r. Oil on canvas, 22 x 17 in., framed. Condition: Lined, scattered small abrasions to l.r. corner, craquelure, surface grime. Provenance: By family descent to the present owner. N.B. John Worthington was a geologist who discovered oil for the Standard Oil Company and served as the general superintendent of the South Penn Oil Company.
