Whiting Sterling Silver Larchmont Yacht Club Trophy, New York, late 19th century, additionally marked "O" to underside, the reticulated compote with a rocaille C-scroll rim, the center with an acid etched inscription "Larchmont Race Week/Class L. /1st Prize. July 19th, 1899./1st Prize. July 22nd 1899./MEEMER," raised on short base with a similarly decorated foot, ht. 5 3/4 in., approx. 30.3 troy oz. N.B. Class L race for Sloops 13 feet and under was won by the Boston-built Meemer , which was owned by R. Nickerson.
