Art Nouveau Plique-a-Jour Enamel Table Clock, Eugene Feuillatre, France, the yellow enamel dial with green Arabic numeral indicators and two butterflies within a shaped silver-gilt case with plique-a-jour enamel floral and foliate motifs, the case with conforming flowers and foliage, key-wind brass movement signed and numbered Lepine, 28957, ht. 6 1/2 in., French maker's mark and guarantee stamps, signed, in original fitted case. Note: Eugène Feuillâtre (1870-1916) was gifted goldsmith and sculptor, but his most exceptional talent is seen in his enamel work. Feuillâtre was head of René Lalique's enameling workshop from 1890 to 1897 and he was considered one of the best craftsmen in this field at the time. He began on his own in 1898, displaying his works successfully at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français and at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Décorateurs. In 1900 he was awarded a gold metal at the Paris World Exhibition.
