Attributed to Carlo Maratta (Italian, 1625-1713) Oil Sketch of the Nativity Unsigned, attributed on a handwritten label from the painting's restorer, Luigi Pittullo, inscribed and dated "Palermo/1896," affixed to the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 10 x 14 1/8 in. (25.5 x 35.8 cm), framed. Condition: Lined, retouch, paint losses, craquelure with flaking, surface grime. Provenance: Property from the estate of Sir Alasdair Munro of Lindertis, BT.
