Longquan Celadon Lidded Guan Jar, China, Southern Song style and glaze, compressed globular body with incurving bottom and a slightly slanted neck, resting on a footring with recessed and rounded base, the body decorated with a molded scroll design between two bands of curved lines and double lotus leaves, the cover slightly domed toward the center decorated with molded round knob and incised floral design, with fabric pouches for jar and cover, double boxed, ht. 7, dia. to 8 in. Note: With a letter written in Japanese describing the jar, sealed "Ryusendo" (of Mayuyama), in an envelope titled "Southern Song Longquan Wine Jar."
