Pair of Scrimshaw-decorated Whale's Teeth on a Turned Bone Stand, America, late 19th century, one tooth with an angel and a maiden ascending through clouds under the moon and stars, the other tooth with a cherub atop a Corinthian column, showering the two cherubs below with flowers, each mounted on a double arm which rotates on an elaborately turned post and base, tooth ht. 6 1/4, stand ht. 7 3/4, overall wd. 7 3/4, base dia. 5 3/4 in.
