New England Fowler with French Parts, c. mid to late-18th century, maple stock with no buttplate, French rampart gun barrel, lock, and triggerguard, sheet brass ramrod pipes, and an iron ramrod, barrel lg. 50 1/4, overall lg. 66 in. Note: A letter accompanies the lot that states that the gun was purchased near Valley Forge, Pennsylvania in 1973 from a family that had moved down from near Boston. Purportedly the gun was used at the Battle of Bunker Hill, but there is no documentation to prove it.
