To an unnamed minister of the United States [U.S. Minister to France Robert Livingston?] concerning the Louisiana Purchase, payments, and the negotiations made by Monroe. Old folds, some tears with loss, not affecting content, old mount on verso, 9 x 7 1/2 in. "Lorsque nous avons signé les conventions et la traité pour la cession de la Louisisanne, je me suis reservé de m'expliquer ulterieurement touchant l'offre que vous et M. Monroe m'aviez fait d'une avance sur la compensation de cette cession."
