Peter Milton (American, b. 1930) The First Gate , 1974, edition of 140. Signed and dated "P Milton 74" l.r., titled l.c., and inscribed "Printer's Proof," blindstamped l.l. Resist ground etching and engraving on Arches paper, plate size 20 x 30, sheet size 27 1/2 x 39 in., unframed. Condition: Minor spotting in margins. N.B. First Gate is listed in Milton's catalogue as Number 93. The final edition was pulled on Murillo paper, however, this printer's proof, outside of the edition, was pulled on Arches paper.
