Carved and Gilt Ink Stick, China, carved as a molded and gilt qilin sitting on top of a circular stone, the flat round stone carved on one side to depict a scholar's dwelling with gilt and red highlights, the other carved with the characters "yi he shu wu" in gilt within a stylized character border, with a four-character Jiaqing mark, lg. 7 7/8 in. Provenance: The Estate of Peter L. Rosenberg.
