the top register of each panel depicting Liuhai or a Daoist immortal, the central register depicting a seated official, warriors, archers on horseback, ladies on courtyards and other figural scenes, with diaper pattern and crane roundel borders, the first and last panel depicting writhing five-clawed dragons with gilt accents, the lower registers depicting traditional vessels and auspicious objects, all within scrolling lotus vine borders, raised on metal-capped block feet, the reverse having flowering branches, birds and additional foliate reserves. Height of each panel 116 1/2 x width 19 1/2 inches.
