Presentation copy, inscribed by Queen Victoria to a member of the Grand Commander of the Bath order (name illegible), signed ("Victoria, RI / Balmoral, Oct. 29, 1898"), on the half-title. Additionally inscribed in a later hand by a subsequent owner. Wear and fading to boards; intermittent foxing; light dampstaining affecting right half of most leaves.
