late Qing Dynasty, having an antechamber preceding the bed with relief carved and gilt painted panels, the antechamber raised on a bracket base with carved posts, the bed supported by an openwork block base and surrounded on three sides by eleven panels having alternating relief carved and gilt painted panels overlaid with openwork frames, the exterior having pierce carved spandrels depicting phoenixes and foliage, with floral and figural allegorical scenes depicted throughout. Height 84 x width 84 x depth 95 inches.
