Amsterdam: Everardum Cloppenburguum, 1631. Oblong 12mo, 3/4 green morocco, gilt-lettered spine, engraved title page and eight portraits. Text in four columns (covering eight languages across double-page spreads) including Latin, Spanish, Flemish, English, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese, comprising not only a dictionary, but a lexicon, providing a language guide in a rapidly expanding world of trade and commerce. First appeared in 1576; Spanish was added in 1589, and expanded to Portuguese in 1630. Some dampstaining; boards worn; ex-library with bookplate tipped in front pastedown; final leaf restored with several words in facsimile.
