A Three-Piece English Worcester Porcelain Cooler, Measures 8 ½ Inches Diameter by 10 ½ Inches Bearing Royal Coat-Of-Arms and Consisting of a Double-Handled Bottom Reservoir 7 1/8 Inches High, a Bowl Liner, 3 ½ Inches High, and a Recessed Top with Gilt Finial. There are Numerous Hairline Cracks Showing on All of the Pieces, However the Integrity of the Pieces is Intact. The Underside of the Reservoir Bears the Name ‘Mortlock’. The Saying ‘Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense’ Appears on Bands on Both the Reservoir and the Liner. On the Verso of the Recessed Top the Following Taped-on Statement Appears: ‘This Service was Manufactured About 1810 by Moss and Mortlock (my Grandfather and Great Uncle) for R. H. The Duke of Clarence, Afterwards King William IV. It Cost About 5000 Guineas. It Was Given by the King to Lady Augusta Fitz Clarence and Ultimately Came Into the Hands of a Gentleman Whose Exors Sold It – I. G. Mortlock Being the Purchaser. The Great Bulk was Sold to Her Majesty’s Warrant Holders and Presented by Them to H.R. The Duke of York, July 1893. We Will Not Ship Nor Pack This Item.
