First edition of the one of the first and most important works devoted to growing citrus fruit, especially in regard to growing in the northern latitudes. With allegorical engraved frontispiece and 100 full-page copperplate engravings on 99 sheets, representing citrons, lemons and oranges, growing patterns and gardens, and allegorical scenes, engraved vignette initials throughout. Renewed endpapers; hinges strengthened; previous owner's ex-libris stamp to engraved title page and manuscript ex-libris to printed title page; 2-inch tear to plate 7 and two others with small tears; 3-inch tear to p. 71 and 4-inch tear to p. 203, repaired; a few light brown spots.
