Barend Cornelius Koekkoek (Netherlandish/German 1803-1862), "Gelder's Landscape"--1840. Oil on cradled wood panel depicting a figure in a red shirt with a dog walking on a dirt road toward a Dutch village visible from the top of a steeple in the distance and a man in blue with a horse drawn carriage coming from the town. Windmill to the left by the oceanside. Landscape with two trees flanking the road and with rolling hills with low lying greenery below a cloudy blue sky. Signed lower left "B.C. Koekkoek f 1840". This painting is included in the catalogue raisonné B. C. Koekkoek 1803-1862 by Friedrich Gorissen, (Rheinland-Verlag, Dusseldorf, 1962), 40/32.
