the deer depicted atop a rocky ledge having a rolled paper tied to his antler, with two bats flying above and surrounded by scrolling foliage, grasses and flowing water, contained in a Japanese brocade silk mount, having nine character inscription with artist's name Nanpin Shenquan and date characters, with two red seal stamps and one red seal stamp at lower left. Height of image 54 3/4 x width 23 3/4 inches.
