First edition of this account of Hennepin's travels in what is now the United States and Canada, including his supposed travels up and down the Mississippi. With additional engraved title page. Five inserted leaves between quires N and O. Lacking two fold-out maps and two plates. Bookplate tipped to one of the front endpapers. [Together with:] Utrechte: Antoine Schouten, 1698. 12mo, in matching brown morocco and custom clamshell case, renewed endpapers. First edition, with all but one engraved plate in facsimile (includes folding map and four engraved folding plates), the original plate being trimmed and with folds reinforced on the verso. Bookplate signed by George Bancroft tipped in between endpapers. Ex-library with blind and ink stamp to title page; title page with a portion rebacked.
