Autograph review of signed ("Gwendolyn Brooks"), eight pages, in red and black pen, October 25, 1994. Brooks opens her review, to an unknown publication, with a eulogy to the poet, saying: "If you read the greater part of the book, you will be sure that this man knew he was alive." She underlines the numerous voices brought out by Hughes from his interviews with various individuals who were the inspirations for his poems. She then follows with critiques of specific poems in the collection.
